Racing and Race Meetings
The CIU Racing Club has saved club members hundreds of thousands of pounds since it started 15 years ago.
The club, uses the bargaining power of the CIU's 2,200 clubs to enable parties of racegoers to obtain better discount deals than they would receive through the courses' normal group discounts.
All the bookings made for any of the listed meetings are sent to the course as one big block booking and therefore attract a better price than would be obtained by a party from just one club.
In addition, Northern Racing, who operate 10 courses including Newcastle, Uttoxeter and the new course at Ffos Las, offer an across-the-board price (with certain exemptions) of £9 at all meetings.
The most successful course in attracting bookings has been Haydock Park on Merseyside, which offers a half price deal at nearly all of its meetings.
Clubs who register as part of the Racing Club receive their own copy of the CIU's monthly magazine Club Journal sent to the Racing Club organiser.
Selected offers made by the courses are listed in Club Journal and all the offers are included in mailshots to the 400-plus registered clubs. They also receive details of the highlight of the Racing Club year — the national charity raceday, which has been held in November at Wetherby in West Yorkshire for the last four years.
