BIG MONEY QUIZ WITH PRIZES FOR ALL LEVELS
This year’s CIU National Quiz again offers a fun night out with a variety of prizes at all levels.
Gaming machine and quiz machine suppliers Dransfields are again sponsoring the competition and have held prizes at the same generous level as last year — the top prize in each of our regional finals is £160 with a £500 top prize in the national final and there’s even a £20 prize for the club coming second last.
The emphasis of the questions is on fun and we have prizes for winning our Sport and TV & Films rounds for teams that don’t finish in the top three — so there are at least six prizes to be won between a maximum of 20 teams. As well as winning cash prizes the top three from each of our six regional finals goes to the national final at Derby in the autumn where as well as the top prize there is £200 for second and £100 for third
In addition our popular spot prizes, usually bottles of spirits, go to the person with the closest guess to such cheeky questions as “How many years did the writer Georges Simenon say it took him to sleep with 10,000 women?”
The quiz begins at Stanley Road WMC in Blackpool on Thursday, April 12, on the eve of the CIU Conference, with the North West regional final, which is co-sponsored by The Co-operative Bank. There will be prizes of £160 for first, £80 for second and £60 for third. The winners of the Sport and TV & Films rounds win £40 each and a team from the club finishing second last wins £20.
Other finals are likely to be held in Surrey, South Wales, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North East.
